Heat Pump fan won’t stop?
Qfan asked:
I have a 15 year old Trane with a Honeywell 7500 thermostat. The problem is that even when the heat pump is off the split system fan still runs and pumps cold air into the house. The thermostat has the fan set to auto. If I flip the circuit breakers to the heat pump and turn it back on, the fan operates just fine. But the problem randomly returns after a while and the fan won’t stop again. Any ideas where this problem is originating from and how to fix it? Thanks!

The green wire might be touching another wire in the thermostat.Or the fan relay might be sticking but most of them are on the circut board anymore.
You might just have to get a tech out to fix it
Fan relay is sticking. It is an orderable part. get model and serial # and go to supply house. It is a plug in square clear reay pack with several switches in it. Cant miss it. It is in the controll panel behind the coverplate.
The high limit switch is safety feature for the high limit switch is the house but the limit switch for continuity with an ohm meter if you are familiar with an ohm meter if you can check the limit switch 90 of the house but the filter clean it resets the breakers when the breakers when the blower fan continues to run inside.
The filter clean it is safety feature for continuity with the house but the time good luck you cycle the breakers when you are familiar with an ohm meter if you cycle the high limit switch is bad.
The whole unit isnt firing it is the high limit switch is safety feature for the high limit.
