Brazing with mapp gas is not a recommended practice. Do not try this at home or anywhere else.

      Tip too damn small!

Either buy a bigger tip, or buy a second tip/MAPP combo, and duct tape the bottles together.

Remember that you’re working w/ copper, which conducts the heat away like nobody’s business.

The copper is ready to accept the braze when glowing dull red (might not see it in dayilght, though).

I use braze exclusively on the copper in my stills.

      Hello Dr. Zarkloff,

i had exactly the same problem mit with this damn propan/butan burners. and i had used a 55 percent for it. after 10 minutes notthing happend, the copper was going still black like yours. Now i have bought a O² + Propan burner, its not so professional like yours bud after one minute i have my work nicley done. This “mappgas” burners are still for soft brazing not hard brazing.

Sorry for my bad english im from bavarian ;)
