Which is the best type of air conditioner diffuser to use in a normal domestic situation?

Our ducting is being provided by Advantage Air and we would like to know if it is better to have a fixed silhouette diffuser or the standard type with adjustable grills. Would welcome feedback on both types. The Air Conditioner being installed is reverse cycle.
